As a dedicated, lifelong resident of
Reynoldsburg, Barth is committed to keeping
Reynoldsburg the type of community of which all
Reynoldsburg residents can be proud. His father, Bill Cotner, brought their family to
Reynoldsburg in 1972. Barth has called
Reynoldsburg his home ever since. His wife, Julie, is also an active member of the
Reynoldsburg community, serving as a first grade teacher for the
Reynoldsburg
City
School District at Graham Road Elementary since 1997. Barth and Julie have been blessed with 2 beautiful children 22 month old Lucie Jane and 7 month old Casey Randal.
A licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, as well as a member of the National and Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Barth has had the privilege of working for and with his father through their family funeral home. The Cotners have served the families of
Reynoldsburg faithfully and consider it an honor beyond description to serve these families through their most difficult moments.
Barth has always placed a high priority on community service, which has led to his affiliations with several local organizations. Currently, he is serving his third year as the president of the Reynoldsburg Republican Club, he is Vice President-elect of the Reynoldsburg-Pickerington Rotary Club, treasurer for the Reynoldsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Reynoldsburg Economic Development Inc., and a member of the Kiwanis Club of
Reynoldsburg. He has attended the
Reynoldsburg
Church of the Nazarene since 1977, with involvement ranging from being a youth and adult Sunday school teacher to serving as an usher. He also has enjoyed coaching youth sports in the
Reynoldsburg
Parks and Recreation Department programs.
Barth is proud that
Reynoldsburg has been a leader in providing quality education for our students and feels the need to maintain the excellent school system. He is a firm believer that the
Reynoldsburg community cannot reach its full potential without the presence of strong and successful schools. To that endeavor, he has supported the
Reynoldsburg schools, showing his commitment by serving as a co-chair on two school campaigns. He will continue to emphasize the value of all of our schools and work diligently to see them succeed.
"As I enter this new endeavor, I want to assure the members of my community that I will be accessible to each of you. I look forward to working with each member of council while creating an open dialogue with them. I plan to learn from the experience of those who have been here before while utilizing my judgment and knowledge to help make
Reynoldsburg a community of which we can be proud." - Barth Cotner
