| Welcome to the Reynoldsburg's Department of Engineering |
| Our Mission |
| The Department of Engineering is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of the public improvement projects for the City of Reynoldsburg. Our goal is to produce high quality projects, on schedule, and within budget. To do this, we must: |
Establish accurate project scopes and estimates.
Design for economy while maintaining high standards and clarity.
Administer our contracts with efficient and effective procedures. |
While doing this, we must also maintain cooperative working relationships with the Public, City Council, the City’s Administration, other City divisions, consulting engineers, utility company representatives, contractors, developers, suppliers and federal, state, and municipal agencies.

The Department of Engineering, either internally or through private services, produce plans and bid documents for most of our City projects. The Department also works to ensure that the City’s interests are addressed on projects designed by other public agencies and that reviews for private property site plan submissions are conducted to verify compliance to City requirements. The department also oversees the on-site field inspection of the City’s public projects. We manage a wide variety of projects done in cooperation with private developers and other governmental agencies and provide through outside services, inspection, material testing, data collection, construction layout services and other technical assistance to City Departments including Parks & Recreation, Streets, Water, and Sewer of the Safty/Service Department.
The primary objective of the Engineering Department is to produce projects which result in an optimal expenditure of City funds. In order to achieve this, both the short and long term impacts of project alternatives are carefully considered. The Engineering Department works to provide the City of Reynoldsburg residents and visitors with the best infrastructure projects and systems possible.
