The Senior Citizens of Reynoldsburg (SCOR was founded in 1971 with a group of 25 people. By the time they had a permanent home at 1520 Davidson Drive in August 1988, they numbered 400. Now the membership is 1800 active members. You must be 55 years old to join and the cost is $15 per year for Reynoldsburg residents and $20 per year for all others. The membership money has paid for many improvements in the Center, nametags, and monthly newsletters for the members. Continued growth has created an exciting environment with wonderful activities and tremendous participation.
In the health field, SCOR has monthly podiatrist, hearing, and blood pressure checks; and yearly flu shots. A massage therapist is available every week.
There are exercise classes every day and a small exercise room available for members. There are dancing, cards, games, art classes, social activities, potlucks and speakers. SCOR has an extensive travel program and features day trips around Columbus and Ohio. Several times a year there are extended trips.
The Senior Citizens of Reynoldsburg may change officers and members, but its intent has not changed...to provide activities and a comfortable place to socialize, meet new people, foster relationships and create memories.
The Staff, Jenny Walsh and Judy Doran, along with the Parks & Recreation Department, the Board Members and the individual efforts of all the members have created a wonderful place for the Senior Citizens.
