Jim R Mosic CLEE

I am honored to have been appointed as the Director of Public Safety for the City of Reynoldsburg.

I began my career with the Worthington Division of Police in July of 1984 after graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in criminology. During my career, I held a variety of positions within the organization rising to the rank of chief.  I am a graduate from the FBI national Academy, Northwestern’s School of Staff and Command and a Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE). Community involvement was a priority and I served on the Board of Directors for the Healthy Worthington Resource Center and Food Pantry, sat on the steering committee for Drug Safe Worthington as well as being actively involved in many community groups. I retired May 6, 2016.

I continue to serve on the steering committee for the Supervisory Training and Education Program (STEP) through the Ohio Association of the Chiefs of Police, and the sexual assault response team training committee. I am also an assessor for the Ohio Collaborative and assist police agencies meet the minimum standards as outlined in Executive Order 2015-04K.

There is no more honorable profession than that of a law enforcement officer.  My career has been built upon a set of core values that I hold dear and I believe that the ability of the police to obtain their mission is dependent on establishing the public confidence and trust which are codependent.

The mission of the police in the broadest since is to improve the quality of life to those in the community and protect the civil rights of those in society.

Director of Public Safety Mission:

Provide efficient and effective public safety services through building trust based upon accountability and transparency.  Embrace a community-oriented approach adhering to the principle that the police are the public and the public are the police.  Committed to excellence and professionalism in service to our community. Our core responsibility is to enhance the quality of life to all who live and visit the City of Reynoldsburg”

Director of Public Safety Vision:

A premier organization admired by their peers that has a significant impact on the public safety needs of the community while never deviating from our core ideology.
