The City of Reynoldsburg contracted the Regional Income Tax Agency, commonly known as RITA, to collect the city income tax effective January 1, 1995. RITA forms are used to file and pay the tax due Reynoldsburg. Any forms and payments should be electronically filed or mailed directly to RITA.
INDIVIDUALS. Reynoldsburg has mandatory filing. If you are 18 years of age or older and resided in Reynoldsburg during any portion of the tax year, you are required to file an income tax return whether or not tax is due. If you are retired or permanently disabled, with no taxable income, you are required to file a declaration of exemption.
Prior to July 1, 2017, Reynoldsburg’s tax rate was 1.5%. The rate increased to 2.5% effective July 1, 2017. A credit of 100%, up to our rate, is allowed for taxes correctly paid or withheld to another municipality. If tax of $200 or more is due, a declaration of estimated tax must be filed and payments made quarterly.
BUSINESSES. Every corporation, partnership, trust or estate whether a resident or non-resident that conducts business in Reynoldsburg must file a return and pay 1.5% (2.5% effective July 1, 2017) on the net profit. Subchapter S must file as an entity.
EMPLOYERS. It is the duty of each employer doing business in Reynoldsburg who employs one or more persons on a salary, wage, commission or other such compensation subject to our 1.5% (2.5% effective July 1, 2017) tax, to deduct the tax due and remit accordingly.
