March 29, 2020 COVID-19 Update

Reynoldsburg city income tax returns and payments for the tax year 2019 traditionally due on April 15, 2020, have been extended to July 15, 2020. Estimated payments for the first and second quarters of the tax year 2020 are extended to July 15, 2020. No request for extension or other filing is required to receive these extensions. No late filing or late payment penalties or interest will be imposed for the period of April 15, 2020, through July 15, 2020, for these extended filings and payments.

Please remember you can e-file for free through Fast File or MyAccount with the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). You can also download tax forms and pay on-line as well. If you have any questions, please contact RITA at 1-800-860-7482.

The City of Reynoldsburg contracted the Regional Income Tax Agency, commonly known as RITA, to collect the city income tax effective January 1, 1995.  RITA forms are used to file and pay the tax due Reynoldsburg.  Any forms and payments should be electronically filed or mailed directly to RITA.

INDIVIDUALS.  Reynoldsburg has mandatory filing.  If you are 18 years of age or older and resided in Reynoldsburg during any portion of the tax year, you are required to file an income tax return whether or not tax is due.  If you are retired or permanently disabled, with no taxable income, you are required to file a declaration of exemption.

Prior to July 1, 2017, Reynoldsburg’s tax rate was 1.5%.  The rate increased to 2.5% effective July 1, 2017.   A credit of 100%, up to our rate, is allowed for taxes correctly paid or withheld to another municipality.  If tax of $200 or more is due, a declaration of estimated tax must be filed and payments made quarterly.

BUSINESSES.  Every corporation, partnership, trust or estate whether a resident or non-resident that conducts business in Reynoldsburg must file a return and pay 1.5% (2.5% effective July 1, 2017) on the net profit.  Subchapter S must file as an entity.

EMPLOYERS.  It is the duty of each employer doing business in Reynoldsburg who employs one or more persons on a salary, wage, commission or other such compensation subject to our 1.5% (2.5% effective July 1, 2017) tax, to deduct the tax due and remit accordingly.
